Healthy Obsession: January

Writer's picture: lunathieflunathief

This is gonna be a blog series about music I'm currently obsessed with called, Healthy Obsessions.

Today I'll talk about what artists I had on repeat throughout the month of January.

Dodie Clark

We'll start with Dodie. I first discovered her through Youtube videos, but I never really checked her music until December 2018.

There is just something about her music that just clicked with me when I heard her songs If I'm being Honest. Just the way her voice and the music work together, it dragged me right in. She just released her new EP Human, January 18 2019, and I've been listening to it non-stop since it came out.

Silence the Wolves

Another band that I discovered through Youtube. At first I only knew the lead singer who would make covers for a lot of bands that I liked, and the way she sang and presented herself in the videos hooked me in. Soon enough she announced she was starting a band and I just had to check them out.

They might not have a lot of music out, but the few songs that they have released are great in my opinion and I can't wait to see what they have planned for the future.

The Maine

Easily one of my favorite songs, but after releasing a new single a couple of weeks ago, they were the only thing I would hear for days. It was one of those moments when you realize that you haven't been really listening to those songs for a while, but when you go back and listen to them it feels like a big hug.

I have their new single Numb without You stuck in my head and I can't wait for their new album to drop in March!

Morat

For the past month I've been listening to a lot Spanish music, but out of all the artists/bands the one that stands out the most is Morat. The Colombian band with an alternative/pop sound, quickly made their way into my playlist after performing one of their songs for a high school performance a year ago. They have been my go-to band for the past month which is weird because I would rarely listen to any latinx artists until the past few months, and Morat is slowly becoming one of my favourite bands.
